Payments
Paying your loan early will not adjust your monthly installment amount.
You can update your payment method in the Bread Financial Member Portal by navigating to the Account page “Payment Information” section and selecting “Connect new account”. If you enrolled in AutoPay, you can also manage your AutoPay settings online.
To update your payment method or manage your AutoPay settings via phone, please call our Member Support team.
For:
– Bread Pay Installments™, your first payment will be due no fewer than 30 days from the date the retailer settles your transaction.
– Bread Pay Loans™ (debt consolidation), your first payment is due no fewer than 30 days after all your approved debt consolidation transfers are complete.
– Bread Pay SplitPay™ your first payment is taken at checkout and the next three payments will be taken out automatically every 2 weeks over the next 6 weeks.
We’ll send you a message once your loan starts that includes your monthly payment date and monthly payment amount. You can also view your payment schedule online in the Bread Financial Member Portal.
You can enroll in AutoPay from the Bread Financial Member Portal Home Page by selecting “Enroll in AutoPay”. To enroll in AutoPay via phone, please call our Member Support team here.
If you check out with Bread Pay SplitPay™, you will enroll in AutoPay at the time of checkout. Once you are enrolled in AutoPay, you can manage your AutoPay settings in the Bread Financial Member Portal.
Yes, you can make payments in the Bread Financial Member Portal on the Home Page by selecting “Make a Payment”. There is never a penalty for paying early.

Any prepayments will go directly towards your next installment payment. Once the next installment payment is covered, any excess amount is applied to your principal balance.

Unfortunately, no. The dates your payments are due are predetermined. For Bread Pay™ SplitPay from the date that you check out, for Bread Pay™ Installment Loans from the date that your order is settled with the retailer, and for Bread Loans™ from the date of the last successful transfers.
If the size of your cart exceeds your loan limit, you will not be able to complete your purchase using Bread Pay™ Installment Loans. To continue, you will either have to lower the total cost of your cart, or checkout using a different payment method.
If you don’t submit your payments by your due date, your account will be past due. Please note, payments must be received by 5:00 pm Eastern Time (ET) on your due date. Paying late may impact your eligibility for Bread Pay™ Installment Loans in the future.
Yes! You can prepay anytime for all or part of your loan. There is never a penalty for paying early. Please note, payments must be received by us 5:00 pm Eastern Time (ET) on your due date.
You cannot make payments on your Bread Pay™ Installment Loan with a credit card or business debit card.
Credit cards may only be used for payments on your Bread Pay™ SplitPay™ payment plan.
Additionally, Bread Financial™ does not accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA) payment cards because we are not designated as a health services retailer.
